A big thank you to the committee for organising a much needed social gathering.
The evening was an opportunity to chat to some of our new members and catch up a little with others.
Sylvia collected and delivered the hot fish and chips but sadly didn’t feel up to staying. These were enjoyed straight out the box and followed in short order, by a cuppa with a chocolate biscuit – easy and very enjoyable.
While eating and chatting, we were also put to task on an amazing quiz devised by Joy. We had around 30 questions, some involved quotes from songs from musicals, which we had to name – a great variety and time span was covered so most people knew some of them. Then we had pictures of women to identify – most from their younger days (not easy) and ‘what do they have in common?’ They were all Dames.
As if that wasn’t enough Joy had some general knowledge rounds up her sleeve so, gluttons for punishment, we answered more questions.
I felt it was a great quiz- I was on the winning team – picture above with our prizes!
Everyone helped clear up with the minimum of fuss – it’s true many hands make light work.
