Welcome to the website of Woking Ladies Choir.
Based in Woking, we rehearse and perform locally and have enjoyed a long and happy history of making music together. Previously known as Bisley Ladies Choir, the choir has been going strong since the 1970s.
We’re a choir for all women who enjoy singing for fun in a friendly, welcoming and trusting environment.
With around 20 – 25 members we soon get to know each other and have social events 2 or 3 times a year, usually a fish and chip supper in the spring, a garden party in the summer and ad hoc theatre outings.
We are well supported by our musical director Julie Aherne, an accomplished musician and professional pianist, who brings a fresh repertoire, huge commitment and great fun to our group. Our accompanist Camilla Jeppeson is a talented musician and professional singer herself, so we are incredibly lucky to be counting Julie and Camilla as part of our set up.
There are no auditions. We usually sing in 3 parts and we do have the music scores to help us.
We rehearse on Tuesdays at 8:00pm – 10:00pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Brewery Rd, Woking, GU21 4LH. See here for map.
Do join us for a trial couple of evenings to see if it’s your thing – otherwise you’ll never know. Ring Rowena Vale on 07984401180, or email: pr@wokingladieschoir.org.uk, so we can be sure to give you a warm welcome.
