Summer term 2023 and concert review

Another term of friendship

This term we continued with learning and refining our songs for our summer concert ‘You’ve got a friend’. The programme for this concert was very popular and varied: ranging from Queen /Bowie’s ‘Under Pressure’ to Cole Porter’s ’Friendship’.

Julie also led a workshop featuring our piece for our Christmas concert later this year ‘Vivaldi’s Gloria’. It was a great opportunity to get to grips with this inspiring work which will be a challenge for us next term. As usual for this term, we enjoyed a garden party with some cakes, a raffle and a bring and buy sale. Anna brought along her adorable baby Caitlin to meet us for the first time.

We also made a momentous step forward for the choir’s organisation, having found a wonderful home at Woking Trinity Methodist Church, we are finally able to gather all the choir’s music in, to file centrally thus relieving members of having to house whole sets of music, and reducing the risk and cost to the choir of losing pieces. Many thanks to all helping to achieve this much needed outcome.
